Trip overnights have returned as well as the J1 double overnight. Even with the occasional shower, the enthusiasm ran high. One of the beauties of camp is discovering that not everything fun is easy or even comfortable. Otters cabin had a few mishaps and ended up eating their hot dogs cold, but the counselors kept insisting “Isn’t this great?” and in the face of such unrelenting enthusiasm, everyone had a great time.
The J1 campers canoed on Lake Nineva, visited Saltash Mountain Camp and hiked to Flying Cloud camp to learn about primitive living skills.
Tomorrow we’ll have a few more photos for you to look at, but please be patient. We’re making the best of living in the woods with all the rainstorms, but it’s not the best weather to pull out cameras and snap photos. Thanks!
Tonight we are having our “Interdependence Day” gathering of all six camps to sing songs, eat ice cream, join in folk dancing and celebrate as one large community.
Thunderstorms have passed and the celebrations begin!
