Trustees Will Hold Their Quarterly Meeting on Aug. 20 - Farm & Wilderness

Written by Farm & Wilderness | August 10, 2021

The Farm & Wilderness and Ninevah Foundations Board of Trustees will meet on Saturday, August 20, for our quarterly meeting. We have a juicy agenda!

We expect the Executive Director’s report to give us a glimpse behind the curtain of the camps’ operations this “Special Edition” summer; we will dive more deeply into each camp’s experiences when the directors join us for the October meeting. The ED’s report also keeps Trustees informed about Finance, Development, Risk, and Conservation; since we hired a new farmer last Spring we’ll hear how the farm program went this summer.

Since Tamarack Farm didn’t operate in 2021, we took the opportunity to reimagine it entirely. We’ll hear a progress report from that team, led by Chris Moncrieff. Another update will be from our Inclusivity & Equity Committee, on the IB name change.

Finally, we have been looking at ourselves and our functioning as a Board. At this meeting, we’ll be discussing the resurrection of the Board Stewardship Committee. This committee would then have responsibility for nominating, selecting, and orienting new Trustees (newBOTs); Board training and development; annual Board and individual evaluations; and making recommendations for policies that reflect best practices for overall good stewardship consistent with our anti-racist, inclusion, and equity commitments.
