It's Good To Be Back At IB! - Farm & Wilderness

Happy first week of camp dearest camp friends and families!

What a joy it was to welcome you and your camper to IB this past weekend. Watching the panorama of emotions was a definite snapshot of what our campers and their adults have been through the past year and a half, and how important it is to share camp with them this summer.

These first few days have been full of some of the most exuberant play, laughter, and joy that camp has maybe ever seen. Old friends reuniting and new friendships kindling is a process magical to watch unfold. There are certainly the expected moments of homesickness, and we will communicate with you if that persists or puts your camper in distress.

Covid and isolation has left it’s thumbprint on many members of our camp community. We will keep you connected to any critical information shared at camp. Wylie, F&W’s behavior specialist, will reach out to keep you informed of any conversations she has with campers as well as to seek additional input needed to best support your camper here at IB.

Today I’ll share with you a few fun goodies about camp, starting with a snapshot of the delicious menu Ru, our kitchen manager, and their team has lovingly been preparing for our IB camp community.

This week all lodges started to participate in swimming and boating activities. Paddle boarding is new for those campers with canoeing and swimming skills sufficient to safely enjoy that sport.

The 15 year old campers are also beginning to create their first of two stained glass projects with the guidance of Willow.

Barns & Gardens is providing opportunities for campers to milk our goat, Clem, and to learn how to hand spin wool and make yarn bracelets from our very own F&W wool.

I really encourage you to write letters to your campers, and we will encourage them to write letters back home to you to share their own unique camp stories. As always, if you have any questions or would like to chat about camp- please give me a call or an email!

Happy Trails!!!

Theresa, Alexis, and the IB staff team
