Upcoming Board Meeting! - Farm & Wilderness

Written by Farm & Wilderness | April 24, 2021

On April 30 and May 1, the Trustees of the Boards of the Farm & Wilderness and Ninevah Foundations will hold our annual meeting. As always, we have a full agenda.

In one exciting session, we’ll hear from Chris Moncrief, who is leading our Reimagining Tamarack Farm task force. If you don’t know Chris, he is a Timberlake alum and staff member; professionally, he is a design strategist, product manager, and entrepreneur who helps organizations build experiences and service-based programs. The purpose of the group, as the name suggests, is to reimagine what programs at TF are most likely to appeal to 15-to-17-year olds. Chris and the design team are currently in the discovery phase of that process.

The Mission & Values working group is also excited to present the results of the work done so far on our values, the SPICES. How can we articulate them so that they are simple, sincere, and sticky? The goal is to have our values be easily understood by our staff, campers and their families, alumni, and Trustees.

Of course, we’ll hear from Executive Director Frances McLaughlin about the first quarter of 2021. We have all been following enrollment numbers, and we’ll hear the latest recommendations of the Re-Opening Task Force, as well as other topics relevant to our carrying out our fiduciary responsibility.

The major task of our annual meeting, however, is to select new Trustees to serve for the next 3-6 years. We will share appreciations and say goodbye to departing Trustees, Zora Jones-Rizzi, Tonya Orme, David Scherr, and Dano Weisbord.

Finally, we evaluate ourselves annually as a Board. Are we fulfilling our duties? Are we living up to our values? What are the roses and thorns from the past year? If you have an opinion on any of these topics, or anything on the agenda, I welcome hearing from you.

Peace,

Kristi Webb
