Questers Depart! - Farm & Wilderness

Written by Pam Podger | August 03, 2016

Hello! My name is Codi and I am the Questers coordinator for summer 2016. I will be keeping this blog updated throughout the trip in order to keep you updated on the Quester’s journey.

As SAM campers began packing out for their cabin trips, Questers spent time packing out food and gear and coming up with their community contract. This is a document that details the kind of community they want to be and the culture they want their trips to have. Other preparations included making prayer flags, which are canvas flags that each Quester designs. All the flags together represent the trip goals and values.

Finally, on Wednesday, July  27th we left for Maine! The Questers began their journey on the Mooselookmeguntic Lake where they will spend four days canoeing until they reach the Androscoggin River. When photos come from the trip leaders, you can see them on the Questers photo gallery.

The group seems to have already cultivated a fun and easy-going dynamic. Being such a small group, there will be a great deal of time to get to know each other and develop close relationships.

I will be resupplying the group every five days or so and after each trip, I will update the blog. Be sure to stay tuned to hear stories and see photos!
