Let the Questing begin!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Codi and I am the Questers Coordinator this summer. I am so thrilled to be at Farm & Wilderness and part of something as special as the Questers!

This summer, the Classic Questers will be the only group on trail and one of the leaders, Colleen, was actually the one who named this trip in 2011! There are four campers on this session’s Classic Quest, all of whom have experience hiking. Although the group is small, it is full of fun personalities and intelligent young minds!

On Saturday morning, as the sky lightened and the rain clouds parted, the Questers were off to Maine for the first section of their trip — canoeing! Although the Questers were prepared and ready to go on Sunday morning, the wind had different plans for the day.  Twenty mile-per-hour winds that created massive white caps on the lake kept them on the shores. Early the next morning (Monday), the Questers set off to make up the miles they missed the previous day. Finishing twice the expected distance in just one day, the Questers got to Half Moon Cove and set up camp.

As their trip continues, I will be checking in with the Classic Questers to resupply them with food, mail, and clean clothes (they’re gonna need them!). I will keep this blog updated with stories and pictures from the trip. Please stay tuned!
