Closing Out Summer 2015 - Farm & Wilderness

Written by Pam Podger | September 01, 2015

Greetings Flying Cloud Blog Readers!

What an incredible run of things this summer has been. The weather was kind, the staff were caring and compassionate, the campers wild, creative and fun. I certainly feel bolstered by the loving experience of this summer and am excited to bring Flying Cloud back to the rest of my life again.

After a wonderful last week filled with Earthwalk, Banquet, and Fair, we all gathered in the Roundhouse (also known as Two Kettles) one last time for the Closing Friendship Fire of Summer 2015. The camper leaders from this summer were in top form, creating a respectful space for all of our community to begin the process of reflecting on the summer and making the transition home. We also announced the camper leaders for next summer. So, it is with great excitement that I let you know who will be holding the ceremonies of Flying Cloud next summer:

As Firekeeper we have Iris Touches the Earth

As Drumkeeper we have Fox Gift

As Spiritkeeper we have Reaching Roots

As Speaker we have Aspen Brother

I’m so excited to work with these capable young men as they take on new responsibilities and adventures next summer.

In closing, I would just like to thank everyone who makes each summer at Flying Cloud possible. We are supported by so many incredible people at Farm & Wilderness who, with little applause or recognition, keep this place running so smoothly and with so much love. Equally, I send out an appreciation to the families in all they ways they do, making it possible for the campers to be here in the Clearing.

Until next summer, may adventure find you in all the ways it can.

Be well & much love,

~FF~
