Being a blade of grass on a windy day - Farm & Wilderness

Written by abreen | July 26, 2012

On a recent adventure day this summer, the “Turtles” (a group of 5- and 6-year-olds)  went in search of Larry the Troll. They searched for clues that Larry had left them. He led them to the garden at Timberlake, where they stopped for lunch. It was a beautiful, windy day.

After lunch, and before they set out to complete their quest, one camper was seen with her hands up in the air, swaying to-and-fro. When asked what she was doing, she said that she was being a blade of grass. She explained that she would pick one blade of grass, and would move her body the same way that the wind was moving that blade of grass.

Before long, other campers and even the Turtle counselors had joined in, imitating blades of grass on a windy day.
