Family Camp (All Ages)
For many years, as parents picked up their children at the end of the regular camping season, they would ask, “Why don’t you have a camp like this for the rest of us?” So we started one!
Enjoy this seven-day camp for families and adults, where campers work, play, create community, and share the joys of late summer.
Family Camp uses the Indian Brook facility just after summer camp ends. Everyone is welcomed to Family Camp, regardless of age or family makeup. The program is relaxed and informal. With the help of a small group of skilled F&W staff, campers implement and lead the activities they would most like to do. Activities might include singing, weaving, canoeing, hiking, woodworking, tie-dying, swimming, playing music, skits, storytelling, crafts of all kinds, climbing, caving, frisbee, board games, preparing meals, visiting the barn animals, helping with barn chores, picking fresh veggies from the gardens or baking apple pies with apples from the orchard.
Family Camp Dates for 2010: August 22 to August 28.
Family Camp is popular, and placement is determined by a lottery system. All registration materials must be postmarked by March 31st to be considered for the lottery. Fees are on a sliding scale, and there is no fee for children four years and younger.
