Mission & Activities

The Questers program uses extended wilderness trips to build leadership skills, wilderness skills, and a strong sense of community. The six to eight Questers spend their time out in the wilds of New England, pacing themselves with the rhythms of the earth. They find inspiration in the glorious, hard-earned views from mountain peaks, from the quiet wisdom of still lakes, and from the deep learning and laughter they receive from each other.

In the beginning of the summer, the Questers are dependent on the trip leaders for direction and guidance. As the summer progresses, the Questers work towards independence, until, ultimately, they are able to confidently lead an expedition on their own. We build socially responsible leaders, skilled at collaboration and inclusion and respectful of the natural world.

Questers is available as a four-week program.

The Questers program varies from year to year. It could consist of hiking Vermont’s Long Trail in Vermont from end-to-end (272 miles from the border to border!) - or, it can include other exciting and challenging venues for hiking, rock-climbing, paddling, and wilderness skills development.
