Fair and Alumni Barbecue
August 9th, 2008
In August every summer, F&W hosts our own version of an old-fashioned country fair. Each camp is deeply involved with Fair preparation: creating crafts, preparing delicious food and rehearsing skits, songs and music. There are hand-made and human-powered rides, food and craft booths, and presentations and performances. The Fair is the same day as Camp Visiting Day. Parents, friends and local residents are all welcome to come enjoy the festivities. The day culminates with a boisterous outdoor square dance and, at dusk, the lighting of a huge bonfire.
If you would like to volunteer at the Fair, please contact the F&W office at 802-422-3761, or email John Strickland at john@farmandwilderness.org.
