Farm & Wilderness is committed to environmental stewardship for future generations.
- Getting Grounded: Our education programs connect people to what sustains them, and gives them skills to find that sustenance within their home communities.
- Full Circle: We endeavor to leave a small footprint on the world and to practice and teach sustainability skills such as:
- Becoming Carbon Neutral: We are working towards becoming a carbon neutral organization.
- Leave No Trace: We conduct all wilderness activities with Leave No Trace methods.
- Composting: We compost both food and human waste on site.
- Farming: We grow and eat our own organic food, and buy as much local food as possible.
- Renewable Energy: Starting with our electric yellow truck and wood stoves, we are moving toward using renewable energy whenever and wherever possible.
- Organizational Sustainability: We are committed to increasing our efficiency and effectiveness in order to achieve organization-wide environmental sustainability.
