Administrative Directors
Linda Berryhill, Admissions Director
Linda grew up in the countryside outside Buffalo, NY catching frogs and snakes to scare her mother. Linda attended the University of Copenhagen and graduated with a BA in History from Beloit College. As a young adult, Linda served as a small-pox vaccinator in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan from 1968-1971, where she met and married her husband John. They returned to Vermont and raised two children, Hunter (who also worked as a counselor at F&W) and Marian. Starting in 1991, Linda has been at F&W for about 20 years and is the staffer with the longest tenure. She has spoken with thousands of parents and children about the truly wonderful summer experience of Farm & Wilderness.
Pieter Bohen, Executive Director
Pieter grew up in Philadelphia in a Quaker family and attended Merion Friends Meeting. His experience with F&W began as a camper at Tamarack Farm, and he later returned to serve on our Crew Program. Pieter holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont in Wildlife Biology/Botany. Most of Pieter’s professional experience is in managing environmental nonprofit organizations. He was a founding staff member as the Director of Programs for EarthCorps (www.earthcorps.org), a Seattle based international Conservation Corps, which trains international and American young adults in leadership and habitat restoration skills. From there he was recruited to serve as Vice President of the Stewardship Program of Cascade Land Conservancy (www.cascadeland.org) where he co-founded the Green Seattle Partnership (www.greenseattle.org), a $52 million twenty-year public-private partnership to restore Seattle’s urban forests. Pieter met his wife while they were both staff at F&W in 1986, and they were proud to return to F&W twenty years later with three children, twin girls and their little brother – all of whom attend F&W camps.
