Year-Round Employment
This year we will have two camp directors who are departing in the fall. Peter Bettmann-Kerson (Valley Zephyr) of Flying Cloud will leave in October, and his replacement Zachary Podhorzer (Forest Flame) will be working as his assistant director this year, to step into the director role in the fall. This is a great model for training, which we hope that we can use in the future as well at F&W. We look forward to Forest Flame’s leadership and thank Valley Zephyr for his contributions to FC and all of F&W!
Also, we would like to announce the departure of Nicole Sutherland-Maiden, who has been the Director of Indian Brook camp for girls for the past three years. Nicole came to us from Woodstock, VT, where she ran her own businesses, and has built a strong and competent team of staff at IB. She and her family are making a move to the West Coast, but we are grateful that she will stay on with us through the fall, so that she can help train her replacement and make the transition smooth for all of F&W. For Indian Brook families, you can expect to see Nicole all summer, and to hear from her in the fall, while we conduct a search for the next leader who can take Indian Brook into its next stage. We thank Nicole for all of her hard work and dedication over the years at F&W!
